Opera is the name chosen by Fratelli Galluccio of Fabbrico (Reggio Emilia) for their first truck camper, because “designing it was a true labour of love”.

The challenge came from the decision to use a single fibreglass monocoque, with a high percentage of solid and little liquid resin, which required careful and labour intensive hand-stratification.

The result is a 7 metre vehicle (although the length can vary from 5.3 to 8 meters, based on the client's requirements) with an empty weight of only 27 tons, compared to the no less than 30 which normally characterise this size.

The entire project was conceived with the goal of limiting the weight, including the interior in poplar, the absolute lightest wood.

Despite the fact an Al-Ko frame is not used, Fratelli Galluccio are able to offer a vehicle which is 8 meters long with a tare weight of 30 tons.

Going against the flow, it was decided to limit the width of the truck camper to only 2,10 meters, at a time when the market tends towards 2,30-2,40m.

The resulting vehicle is thereby much more streamlined and inside the space is recuperated thanks to a 50 cm. cooker rather than the usual 60 cm.

Maintaining the cabin supplied by the manufacturer offers advantages in terms of safety, particularly regarding air-bags and very strong bumpers, and it keeps costs down.

The projected annual output is approximately seven or eight units, at a promotional price, for the 7 metre version on a Renault Master base, of 72,000.00 Euro, or approximately 25% less than a motorhome of the same length.
